Virgin Mobile iPhone V. S. Straight Talk iPhone?

First let me say I'm NOT interested in getting a contract with AT&T, Verizon, etc. Secondly I'm interested in buying either the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S since most of my friends say they wish they stuck to the 4S.

I have been with Virgin Mobile for 2+ years now and absolutely love it. The most important thing to me is to have great coverage, unlimited texting, and unlimited data. Virgin Mobile has come through with this and this is why I'm considering them when buying the iPhone 4S.

I just read that starting this Friday Straight Talk will offer the iPhone 5 with unlimited texting, data, and calls for only $45 a month. That is nice, however I'm wondering what their coverage is like. I don't know anyone who uses Straight Talk so I'm a little weary.

Can someone suggest which would be best for coverage with the iPhone in New England?

The coverage has nothing to do with the device. The coverage is based on the quality of the service provided by the carrier where you are located.

Straight Talk is a GSM-based MNVO that buys it's service from T-Mobile (mostly) and AT&T.

If you've been with Virgin and are happy with their service, stick with them.

So the iphone with Virgin Mobile and Straight Talk are locked. Virgin Mobile uses Sprint Network and Straight Talk uses Verizon and A T&T or T-Mobile network depending on the phone. You won't be able to use it in New England. You need to purchase a iphone that is unlocked in order to use it in any international country.
