Was this Computer High end back in the day?
My dad Showed me his computer which he assembled in 1999
256MB Ram
Pentium III 700MHz
Voodoo 32MB
20GB HDD
He said it cost him around 900USD Then
It sure was! Probably came with a fresh install of Windows 98 and Office 97
Back in the day that was a cabage lol
Just to compare, in '99 I was running on 128MB RAM
Can't recall processor
3DFX Vodoo 32MB (was so proud of it, too)
8 GB HDD

You bet. That was a cooker of a system for the 1900's.
Mine around that time (2003) had an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor (Barton processor core), 2GB of ram and a 200GB drive. It was a 1.83 GHz monster. Cost me $1300.
It's amazing what kind of processing power you can get these days for $900. Wonder what my kids will be using in 20 years.
In 1999… Yes, that would have been a hot gaming rig. Now… Not much use for it.
Compared to the aopen i have from the past amd k6 233mhz, 256 ram, 4mb maxtor gpu, 20 gb hdd, windows 98 se yes i would consider his kind of a high end build back in 1999 his pc is well over 16 years old
- Will Apple Retail Stores refill stock one day after launch day? If in any way an Apple Retail store runs out of stock after launch day of the new iPhone 6, is there any chance that by the next day there will be new stock already again? Or does sold out mean = sold out for a few weeks.
