My favorite apps of all time:
1) Angry Birds: Star Wars ($0.99)
The best Angry Birds game yet! Imagine the original Angry Birds, then add lightsabers, the Force, a Death Star, and some awesome new outfits and abilities for the Angry Birds, and Clone Trooper/Darth Vader/Sith Lord costumes for the Evil Pigs. That's how epic this game is! Personally, it's my favorite paid app, tied with Rage of Bahamut for favorite app of all time!

2) Rage of Bahamut (Free)
An awesome virtual card game, which is based off of the real card game 'Magic: the Gathering' (which I play in a club at my school, it's really fun!). You will see a lot of knock-offs, but this is the original app that all of the knock-offs are based off of. It is made by Mobage, a large app developer in Japan. I got the app shortly after it released in spring of 2012. I'm currently level 82, and I love it! You can play without ever spending a penny and still be able to compete fairly with other people of your rank that have spent lots of money on it. Also, you can be in an Order, where you help each other in events and work together in 'Holy Wars'. (The Order chat is the only thing that isn't very good, so my Order switched to KakaoTalk until they revamp the Order chat). Personally, it's my favorite free app, tied with Angry Birds: Star Wars for favorite app of all time! If you decide to play, use ynj50363 as the referral code after the tutorial, and then send me a support message. I might be able to get my Order to let you in (we normally only take people level 60+ with 60k ATK & 60k DEF minimums, but I think my Order leader might make an exception for you if I ask, and we can all help you out with leveling up and anything else that you need), and I'll add you as a Fellow, and I can send you some cards that I don't use, but that can help you to get a bit of a head start (I must note that you have to either be Fellows or in the same Order as someone for two weeks before you can trade, a temporary rule until they can think of something better, since they also just added an anonymous mass trading hub, the 'Bazaar' more of a nuisance than a serious flaw). (This app DOES require Wi-Fi, but it's definitely worth it!).

It really depends what you enjoy playing. Personally i enjoy temple run because it is just fun and it doesn't use Wi-Fi. It is also free. Another game that I like is something called flow. Its a puzzle game in which you have to connect dots in order to fill up the entire grid leaving no space. Also free and doesn't require Wi-Fi.
