What are some good reasons to increase child support amount?

My daughter's father has been popping in and out of her life Before increasing the amount I want to establish custody. He is supposed to have her every other weekend and every Thursdays; however, he finds every reason not to see her on Thursdays anymore. He also has her on Fridays while I'm at work. Now I have to pay for before/after care because he changed his mind about picking her up from school on the days that he has her. As a result, I have to pay $520 a month for daycare. As my daughter gets older, she is getting more expensive as expected. I'm paid for her school clothes from the beginning of school ($300) and her food her for lunches once every two weeks ($50). He's currently paying $170.00 a month but I really need help. I'm paying for all this including my student loans ($320), money towards her college savings ($150), and school field trips ($25). I have a full time job.

P.S. I live in Maryland. He lives off his sister; he only has his phone bill to pay so I know he doesn't pay rent. I wears $250 shoes and just brought the iphone 5 and he is a automotive technician but I'm not sure of his income.

You can petition the court to grant you full custody if your ex is neglecting, avoiding or tampering with the custody agreement. Keep a detailed calendar of his behavior to substantiate your pleading. You can ask for an increase in support only if you are granted sole custody and if there's an increase in his income. You will have to subpoena his tax records to prove an increase.

Contact your local child support enforcement agency and they will assist you in seeking a modification of your court ordered child support if the order is 2 years old or older. They do not handle custody or visitation-you need a lawyer for that.
