Some school are allowing Iphone/Android phones in school for research in certain classes. I'm also in High School and we're aloud to! Also, there are many games/apps on the app store to help with memory, mathematics, and other subjects that can get your brain working really hard! Also, if you have Wi-Fi, you can use that when at home or at a friends so you aren't wasting data! It's also a good thing to have to learn proper responsibility. I mean a 300$ phone is outrageous…
If you don't have a tablet or laptop, you should keep your phone (cheaper data plan?) and purchase a laptop or a tablet, which are large enough to run productivity apps.
As for iPhone, I'm a power user, so it's not a choice for me. I don't like either that Apple products are overpriced. (Samsung phones and tablets are not cheap either).
More people have it and allows more app and social abilities.
Also easy and more comfortable.

I had iPhone before and I wanted to try Android and so far, I'm glad I did but I really can't see why people get them over iPhone.
