What can I do about my iPhone 5 problem?

I've had my iPhone 5 since October 2012, basically just after it was released. Just a few months ago, the lock button became very faulty and it can literally take me endless numbers of tries to actually lock my phone, the button just barely works depending on how you press it. I also receive a notification of a text message (my text message sound goes off again) after the already receiving a notification of the text message, every time. They're both really bugging me but I don't know what I can do since I don't have applecare and it's been just over a year since I got my phone. Is there even a point in bringing it into the apple store?

You have to spend a bit of money to change both knobs, the reason is because of excessive force been applied while operating. Roughly around $100. The text message same with me, it is your service provider and nothing to do with the phone… Good luck mate

I would suggest you going into the apple store and say that when you updated your phone to the most recent software it started having these problems and then they'll say well have you tried restoring. And you should say yes, i've tried everything. Thats what I have done in the past. But… Since you're out of the one year I'm not too sure if they can replace your phone or help you at all without paying a replacement fee. You'll have to just go in and try, I wish you the best of luck!
