Well you got scammed.
If you bought it on eBay and the listing didn't say or mention that the phone wasn't paid off, you're covered under eBay's Buyer Protection program since the didn't arrive as described in the listing.
However, if the listing did say that it wasn't paid off, then you're out of luck.
If you bought it from somewhere else, then you're out of luck.
Learn from it and regard the cost as the price of an education.

- Will blocked numbers on my iphone stay blocked when I get a new iphone? My girlfriend blocked a number of a person she wasn't supposed to be talking to. She swore up and down she did. She got a new phone and months later that number called. Did she lie to me. She uses the same icloud account, the same phone number.
- Unpaid item case after i relisted it and sold it? I put up an Iphone 4 on ebay, someone bought it but never paid. After 2 days i messaged them asking what was going on and they replied "i don't want it, it's verizon"---obviously this person is an idiot because it clearly said Verizon in the title. However, i relisted it and it sold. But now i want to open an 'unpaid item' case in ebay. But i no longer have the phone because i sold it, so if they do pay… What do i do?
