What can I do with 500MB of data?
I'm getting a new contract for an iPhone which comes with 500MB of data. When I'm out of the house I tend to tweet and Facebook and opening a few Internet pages then use Wi-Fi at home. Will 500MB be enough for my needs?
Yeah, that should be ok as long as you don't watch videos or download apps when you're not using Wi-Fi.
I'm on 1gb so twice that because I thought 500 wpuldnt be enough but I don't even gp through 250mb per month and my phone is on the net 24/7 unless I'm at home and on a internet munching phone such as mine is very good if you use Wi-Fi at home then just make sure you do all app and ios updates through Wi-Fi and don't watch alot of youtube vids unless with Wi-Fi then you will go no where near 500mb of data.
Should be more than enough. To check how much data you're currently using, open Settings -> General -> Usage. It counts from the last reset, which may be several months or years ago. So click "reset" to go back to zero, and check it again after 24 hours (or maybe after a typical Facebook session). This will give you an indication of your actual usage.
As a guide, with a data allowance of 500MB, you'll have enough to send and receive around 5, 000 emails or log into Facebook up to 10, 500 times. Or you could view 100 five-minute YouTube clips - or roughly 1, 600 standard web pages.
- Would 500mb data be enough for me? - 1 I just bought an iPhone 4 and I'm looking into getting Verizon. I'm not sure if 500 mb will be enough for me. I get on Facebook daily and I use twitter instagram ifunny and might even browse some web pages. I might use the iMessage and FaceTime features as well. I don't know how often I would use those. And I have Wi-Fi at home. But would this be enough based on your understanding? Please let me know.
- Is a 500mb data plan enough for me? I will only use the Internet once in a while when i'm outside the house, in the house i have an iPod touch and Wi-Fi. I want to put my 500 songs from my ipod in my iphone does that take up data? Do pictures take up data?
- Is 500mb of data enough for these apps on my iPhone? I pretty much just want enough to use kik, instagram, and twitter. A tmobile plan would give me 500mb a month but no overage charges so does that mean I can go up too 2, 000 mb a month without any charges? Ty
- Is 500mb of data enough for the iPhone 4s? I'm looking at plans that I recently bought for my iPhone 4s and a plan that I like includes 500 mb of data. I know that data is for browsing on the internet, but how much is 500mb of data? Is it more than enough or too less? I'll most likely just be on YouTube, Facebook, email, and Google on my phone. Will it be enough?
