What carriers can a sprint iPhone 4S be used on?

I have an iPhone 4S on sprint, an my contract is now over. I would like to give the phone to my cousin, but she can't afford sprint. Can it be unlocked and put on any other carrier?

Well, since your Sprint contract is over, I suppose you can call Sprint and ask for it to be unlocked. Ask if can be used on other carrier. If not, you can jailbreak it to be used in other carrier.
