What does 2 year contract mean? - 1

I want an iphone 5s.

It costs 199$ with contract

649$ with contract

The thing is that i live in Honduras, Central America so my uncle would buy it for me, and she will bring it.
If i want the 16gb iphone 5s that costs 199$and i will not live in US… Can i get it.

Won't work, because you have to be from the US to sign up for a 2 year contract.

You keep your phone for two years without being able to upgrade

You can't use the phone outside of America so don't get the contract just but it normally

Sure. But there are a few problems with this appoach:

- you (or whoever) will need to pay for the contract. Usually two years, usually (at that price) on the order of 50…100$ per month. Data and minutes on this contract will probably be useless to you, since these very rarely include international roaming. You may even not be eligible for that contract, since you're not a US citizen

- the phone may be SIM-locked (US phones often are), i.e. You can only use the SIM that comes with the contract

- importing the phone to Honduras may (probably will, but I don't know aything about Honduras customs office) incur additional costs in form of duties and taxes
