What does cookies mean on the internet?
I use my iphone for the internet and sometimes it comes up 'accept cookies' or something like that. What does this mean?
That question will be for google to answer
To my knowledge they're used to keep a record of your visit and recognise you when you go back to the site.tracking cookies also track other sites you visit.
Cookies are something that allow a website to track your movements on the internet. It won't be able to identify you personally but it can identify your IP address and follow you around the internet to see what sites you visit. When cookies are enabled, a website you visit more than once will be able to identify your IP address and that you have visited the site before. You may have noticed that when you visit a website that you are registered on and you try to sign in your username and sometimes password will be saved and you don't have to log in all over again. This is from allowing cookies. If you deleted your cookies these sites would no longer recognise your IP address.
A cookie is a small text file put on your computer. They are often used for legitmate reasons. They are only asking whether you want to accept them due to a recent court order.
It is a small bit of code that the web site places on any computer that visits it. You have the ability to turn it off, so that your computer will not accept cookies. Some phones will not accept cookies.
There a lot of questions being raised about how the cookie information and tracking is being used.
Cookies are data stored by the websites on your computer or mobile devices. So, why they store data on our machines? So the next time you open a webpage it loads faster by taking elements from your computer. Like you play a facebook application, it loads slowly first time but starts working faster every time you use it again. Because it is loading contents from your computer. You can allow cookies for all trusted sites like facebook, google sites and all famous sites. But preferably do not allow cookies from other sites specially those you visit less because you do not need that site again. In my case, i allow cookies from all sites, you can change the settings. But i do delete all cookies after like 1 month because some unwanted site cookies make your device insecure.
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- What does this mean: Free Msg: Receiver unable to receive message - Message Blocking is active mean on iPhone's iMessage? I tried sending my friend a text and it replied with this. We haven't gotten into any fights and we hung out for hours recently. Has she blocked me?
- What does it mean when your internet says connected with limited access? I have a windows vista that's 2008. My house internet went down yesterday so I had to take the plug out of the internet and plug it back in after 10 minutes. Then everything worked but today my laptop says connected with limited access but my iPad internet and iPhone works fine. So what to do? I tried everything on google but it didn't work. My sister said its like something I downloaded but I didn't download anything since like 2 weeks. So what to do?
- What does it mean if he does this? When I'm walking to the bus and my crush is to I catch him looking what I'm doing on my iPhone and I look at him back. And I notice when he sees me with the phone he takes it out and copies me like how I hold it stuff
