What does Other mean when syncing an iphone?
When syncing my iPhone I notice that the a large part of my space is taken up by a block called other.
What is this made up of and How can try to make is take up less space?
I have this problem as well (3.2GB worth of it). I heard it consists mainly of old app data, corrupted data, album artwork, apps not deleting properly, app updates, calendar data, settings etc.
The only way I know of clearing it is using the clear and restore factory settings functions to, in effect, make your phone completely new again as far as software goes. You'd then have to resync everything though, but you should have less "other" space taken up. Do not restore from backup, as this will put on the "other" data again.
- Why is my iPhone and iPod syncing apps with each other? Okay, so every time I download an app on my iPhone it also downloads on my iPod? Where can I go in my settings so this can stop?
- What does this mean: Free Msg: Receiver unable to receive message - Message Blocking is active mean on iPhone's iMessage? I tried sending my friend a text and it replied with this. We haven't gotten into any fights and we hung out for hours recently. Has she blocked me?
- What does syncing my iPhone mean? I downloaded music from somebody's computer with there I tunes, does that mean they synced my phone to there computer? & if so does that mean they can see my photos/videos/voice memos?
- What does syncing my iPhone mean? - 1 I have a 13 inch Macbook Air and an iPhone 5S with updated software. I want to put a ringtone onto my phone. I already have it set up, but when I want to put it onto my phone, it wants me to "sync" it. It says that it's going to clear the iTunes library on my phone, which has music my Macbook doesn't have. People online say that it's just going to add the songs from my Macbook, and not replace the ones on my phone. Which is right?
