What does Technical Considerations mean?
Added (1). I'm doing a definition report for Communication Media but I can't find this word on google.
I assume "technical" refers to the most technological aspect of the media in contrast to economical, interface, ethical, security, or other considerations. This generally applies to the technology used in the physical or soft medium.
For example, a physical medium might be a newspaper, with technological limitations on how quickly it can be distributed. The manufacturing and/or distribution TECHNOLOGY introduce "technical considerations".
Another example with a physical medium might be a network infrastructure system with routers, switches, etc., with limitations on power, physical location, cord length, etc. The electrical TECHNOLOGY used to make the medium work introduce "technical considerations".
Now, this same network, may also carry data. This is like a soft medium within the physical medium. The soft medium has requirements and limitations with respect to its protocols, so in a sense, the software TECHNOLOGY that makes the transfer of information e.g. Communication possible, has "technical consideration."
Another example is a social networking site. There are physical and soft mediums associated with this. There's the server itself, a hard medium, a computer that runs the website. Any requirements or limitations introduced by the server are "technical considerations", such as processing power, etc. The software running on the server has "technical considerations" as well.
The server's connection to the customers has physical and soft mediums associated with it; "technical considerations" include bandwidth, local internet cluster reliability, etc. Even the customer's client (PC, iPhone, etc.) can be a "technical consideration". After all, social media websites have to make their webpages presentable to the customer, so, for example, a test to determine whether they are using a mobile device is helpful in presenting webpages.
In this last instance, the DESIGN of the interfaces presented to customers is not so much a "technical consideration" as the fact that a device-specific design is necessary.
Examples of NON-technical considerations:
Economical ($$$$)
Interface (The customer will find this intuitive to use and will find the information they need)
Ethical/Legal (i.e. We're taking measures to ensure customer's information is protected) consider the technicalities.
