What does The customer you have dialed is currently unavailable, please try again later. Mean?

I tried calling my friend earlier (they have an iPhone) and it kept ringing and ringing, then a voice said "The customer you have dialed is currently unavailable, please try again later." then it went back to ringing them and said "The cellular customer you have dialed is currently out of the area or is presently away from the phone". What does this mean? Have they blocked my number or something? I called them 2 days ago and they answered, although we did have a bad argument yesterday and then that voice started saying that when I tried calling them again.

Let me guess someone you are talking to online says that he is "deployed" to Libya right now and has fallen in love with you. Then he either has or is about to ask you to send things like shoes, iPhone, money, etc… Or maybe fill out leave/retirement papers for you as well. But all of this has to go through someone (a missionary or an Office) in Nigeria.

SCAM! Stop all communications, report him to the website and if you have sent anything make a report with the FBI and CIB. No It means what it says. The phone is unavailable: it could be outside a service coverage area, or more likely simply turned off. It could also mean that the other person has set a network block against your number.

Whatever the cause, take the hint. Whoever you're calling doesn't want to speak to you right now. Your friend didn't pay the Bill and it's disconnected or the phone is off or out of the area and voicemail is disabled.

My vote is for number one. The person you are calling either changed numbers or service is currently not on.
