I downloaded a vpn in touch app and i turned it on and now it says vpn is activated and i heard it keeps viruses away. What does vpn really do?

Vvpn is being used for security. Like example if you use public Wi-Fi at cafe, then with vpn access no one can spying in your traffic, because the connection in the vpn is secured

  • Why does my mac book not connect to my VPN? I'm studying abroad in China and I have access to a VPN through my university in America. I'm able to connect to the VPN but it still will not let me get on Facebook, Google and other blocked sites in China. I use the same VPN for my iPhone and iPad and it works great. I have contacted my school but the IT guys were not too much help. Is there any setting on my Macbook that would be causing this? Any ideas?
