What electronic should I get?

I really like the Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch, iPhone 4, or iPod Touch 4 Generation. How do I decide? The iPhone would be expensive, with the calling fees. THe Nexus's lack of rear camera and expandable storage is bad? And Samsung Galaxy is the best, for now. WHat should I get? I plan to be reading mostly, with an occasional web search or app. I have a Kindle TOuch, so E-Readers are out.

If you don't care about don't having a camera on your tablet, go for the Nexus 7.
It receives updates directly from google, has google chrome and it's size is just great for browsing.
Also, it's just $199 at the Play Store

I'd get the Samsung, I've heard good things about them and less stories about them breaking
Iphones break a lot (or so I've witnessed) and Nexus's lack of storage really is a pain I've heard a few complaints about that. And if you plan of E-reading Nexus isn't the best choice it won't hold enough books, not sure about the iphone I just don't like those. But Samsung sounds like the best choice here.
Nexus is the cheapest though if you want to be frugal.

Ipad dude, i think ipad is the best, red this review bellow

James,

If you had to choose one, which device would you use to the max? Which device would you heat up the processor and wear down the function tabs on the device. Get the one that you have your heaviest need and don't look back. The bigger screen always trumps the smaller screen. What is uniques about the Galaxy Note 10.0 is that you can draw with it. Now that does something the others don't come close to being able to do in a proper fashion. E-readers specialize in books, tablets light computing the processors are very different, a tablet will always have the more talented processor than an e-reader. A $200 tablet may look like a $500 tablet but when it comes down to what they can do and how well they can do it, they are worlds apart. You will not get a $200 ($500) tablet no matter how hard you try. You still get what you pay for. The other thing, is that each device is wedded to a manufacturer who wants to make money on content. Amazon is Kindle, Google is Nexus, Apple is itunes and so forth. You will buy into an eco-system and trust me on this, they will never play nice together because of the rivallry to dominate the market. They could, but they will not, so whichever brand has the most complete eco-system of media go for it.

The Galaxy Tab is no longer a good choice, it's less powerful than Nexus 7 and some latest tablets. If you need mobile phone, then definitely the iPhone. But I'll recommend go for a tablet rather than an iPhone or iPod, if you plan to watch video or surf the web on the device. Bigger screen like 7" will be much better than 3.5" to 4" screen on iPod and iPhones.

You can consider Kindle Fire HD as well, it's a full function tablet like Nexus 7. They are quite close indeed, below is the comparison.

Kindle Fire HD (over Google Nexus 7):
- HDMI output (not supported in Nexus 7)
- Dolby Audio Stereo speaker (Nexus 7 has mono speaker)
- Faster Wi-Fi (said to be dual-band)
- 16GB built-in for $199 model, double that of Nexus 7
- Option to upgrade to 32GB or bigger screen (Nexus 7 has 16GB max, only 7" screen model)

Nexus 7 (over Kindle Fire HD):
- Supports NFC (for device to device communication)
- GPS (for Kindle, GPS only available in Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G model)
- A bit lighter in weight
- No ad (Kindle Fire has ad built-in, you need to pay $15 to opt-out)
- Pure Android Tablet (Kindle Fire is running Amazon customized Android)

Between the two I'll pick Kindle Fire HD. Nexus 7 is good as pure Android tablet, but with Kindle Fire HD you can sideload Android app as well. The ad on Kindle Fire HD shouldn't be disturbing too, from past experience there're some good offers in the ad from time to time, so quite a lot of users prefer to keep it. Another thing is content support, Amazon is one of the best music, movie, book store, and it's a strong advantage over Google. However, if you want GPS, then Nexus 7 may be the choice.

A good actual user comparison here, between Google Nexus and Kindle Fire HD:

Hope it helps.

  • Which electronic device should i get? I want to get new gadgets but there are just to many to pick. Should i get an iphone, samsung galaxy note, or an ipad? Ps i have an android smartphone and an ipod touch 4th gen
  • When dealing with small electronic components, should I wear gloves? I'm going to replace my iPhone 4S Screen. Which requires me to gut the whole phone in order to get to the screen. I'm pretty confident that it will be successful. But I'm aware that my oils or static can destroy (i don't know) the components. Would it be a good idea to wear latex gloves or something?
  • What is radioshacks electronic protection plan? Okay I have a 3year RadioShack electronic protection plan. Does that mean it my item stops working, I can take it back and they will give me a new one? Because I have an iPhone 5 charger that I purchased from them on 6/3/13 and it has stopped working properly. Would I be able to take it to the store and get a new one for it?
