What happens if you buy a iPhone of eBay and it happens to be stolen?
I typed in a serial number of an iPhone into apple checker and it said the phone has not been activated? The phone is still sealed in its box is the phone ok to buy?
Yes its good to buy its sealed and the serial number is good.
Its knackered. If the imei number is listed as stolen, the phone is no good.
Networks use the phones IMEI to identify it and this is what they use to place a block on it as well.
You can check with a service called CheckMend who are a recognised authority on checking the status of phone blocks. That will tell you if the phone is currently blocked.
However, the concern is that if the phone is stolen, it could be reported at any time. If that happens, the phone will stop being able to receive signal and effectively become an iTouch.
Make sure you trust the retailer and then purchased based on the information.
