What happens when you turn on location services?
I know it's usefull for some apps, but does it mean that they can track exactly where you are 24/7?
(p.s. I have an android not an iPhone if it matters)
Location services means that apps that you've allowed location services can use your location to provide customized info on where you are. Even if it's on it's not much help if you turn the GPS on your phone off, and even less help if you also turn off the Wi-Fi!
As a rule of thumb, if you don't trust an app with this info then don't allow it access to it!
Its for apps that uses/needs your location to function. Could be for things like Checking In via Facebook or using navigation apps
Yes the apps you allow can always use the service to track you down. But it's not like they are spying on you. Just to improve their service they are getting your exact location
If you don't think you can be tracked then you must living in your own little world.
- Using location services on iPhone while cellular data is off? If I have turned off cellular data on my iPhone 5 and have location services on, will I be charged? In other words, do location services use cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available, even though I have turned off cellular data?

- My Facebook location services aren't working on my iPhone 4S? I'm trying to upload a video to my Facebook page but I click on the status thing that lets you do this and when I click upload existing it come up with a page saying that my location services aren't turned on. But they are. I've turned them off and on, I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it so that it comes up with a thing asking if Facebook is allowed to use my location, I click yes but it still won't work. What's wrong, how do I fix it!
- Is it possible to find a lost iPhone using location services without an App? Is there any way to find my lost iPhone? It should still be powered on with its location services on as well. I don't have any App on the phone that is going to allow me to find it, so an App suggestion unfortunately will not be helpful. I have a general idea of where it is lost (a large school), but I would need specifics in order to find the phone. Any advice?
