What if I buy an Iphone5s locked on contract and leave USA? Can I unlock it?
Say I visit US for 2 days, go to AT&T buy the phone on contract, pay almost nothing for the device and leave US after 2 days and go to France. Can I unlock the phone and still use it and somehow cheat AT&T and get away with getting Iphone almost for free? What if someday i go back to US, will the track me somehow with the IPhone IMEI?
You won't be able to sign for a new contract without being a resident here (they do a credit check before allowing a new contract). Even if you were able to, the moment a bill is unpaid, the IMEI will become banned and you will not be able to buy an IMEI unlock for it online. It will stay locked to AT&T and with a bad IMEI number.
You will be arrested at the airport when you come back to USA.
