What is a good camera to buy? - 1

I'm almost fifteen years old, and I was thinking about asking for a camera for Christmas. I'm really starting to like taking pictures of sceneries. I have the iPhone 5, and the camera is very good, but it just doesn't take clear enough pictures. What is a good camera to get that would be suitable for me that works good? Something take takes super super clear pictures and isn't too expensive.

Don't buy anything w/o reading CR.

I would borrow a photography guide book from my local library and read about the different equipment that is used in photography, it's difficult to give advice on which camera might suit you… It will also give you an idea of how much the equipment costs… And you can then work out which 'kit' you can afford.

It's always best to visit a camera store or dealer to handle different cameras before you 'commit' to buying one… Some cameras don't feel that great and you might prefer one cameras controls or menu system to another.

It all depends what the budget is.

When buying a camera you are paying for a box and a lens - its the lens that costs the money. If you intend taking this seriously you may want to get a DSLR so you can use different lenses for different subjects on the same body.

Millions (well not quite) to choose from.
