What is it like being home schooled? - 1

I'm curious. I go to a public school (I'm a sophomore), which I totally hate. I don't have any friends (don't really care about getting any) and I believe that mostly we learn total bull*** and just waste time. I mean "art". A waste of an hour (how is that gonna affect my future career?). Lunch. A waste of an hour. We have lunch 7th (we have 8 periods). We could have last class instead and eat lunch during last period (that would be optional, so we could go home and do something useful). Also, we can't choose our classes. I don't want to complain, but I wanna become an iPhone app developer/programmer and I honestly have no idea how French, Art, and Chemistry (which don't interest me at all by the way) can help me.
So how's it being home schooled, and how much is it? Do teachers like come to your house and teach you or what?
Please, answer these questions:
- Do any teachers visit you?
- Do you have to meet up with other kids from your "home schooling district" or integrate with them (something I would want to avoid)?
- Is it free? If not, how much is it?
- Is there a different graduation date (earlier/later)?

I'm currently homeschooled, It actually starts out pretty nice. I like that i can do my work on and off a day. I don't have to be in a rush to turn the work in and I can do it at my own pace. No it's definitely not free. Its $50 dollars a month ( i don't know if that's the price for all home schools but mines is) I do not go up to the school and meet other teens. Although you can always go to the school and ask questions about your work if you need help. I usually do it online or over the phone. U graduate when you finish all your work. It all depends on how long it takes you to finish your work. If you go for general high school (4 years) you can be done in a year if you really do your work fast. All in all, it's kinda nice. Although you're just paying for a diploma. If you don't finish your work within the years you pay for, i have to pay a $75 fee to reinstate to finish which sucks.

I was in public school. Then got home schooled for almost a year
It starts off really nice as the person below me said. Then, you get off track and fall behind. Then you get so *** stressed out trying to catch up but you still hate public school. Then you end up staying inside all day and secluding yourself from the rest of the world and my Social Anxiety got worse. Now I'm going back to high school soon lol

I'm homeschooled, its awesome, but difficult at the same time.
I have my teachers online, we can live chat via Skype. They don't come to my house, but when I need help I can call or email them.
I'm not very social, I would much rather be on youtube or Facebook, but yes, they do have very fun meet ups for all ages, and classes specifically for higher grades. Like sculpting, or computer animation.
For me its free, cause it is a public school, but you do have to pay for supplies and books if you need them. I could graduate a month in advance it I want, but its a lot of work to get ahead.
I have a typical 6 hour school day, with as much or more work than public school, so you can't escape that. You don't have to do as much PE though.
But there are no "sick" days, if you want a day off, you will have double the work the next day, easy 12 hours.
You don't waste time doing nothing, when your done, your done for the day. No Hhomework.
You have to do all the classes, (math, science, English, social studies, and PE) and optional language classes. You can't escape chemistry, if that's what your grade's standards require you have to do it.
Well, I have to get back to work.
Hope that helped!
