What is meant by ipod and iphone. Explain me in detail?

They are products made by Apple. One is a little gadget that plays music (and also runs apps if you get the fancy one), the other is a phone that also plays music and runs apps.

The fundamental different is that the iPod is a music player and iPhone is a phone that you can actually sign up with a phone service provider (and call people of course).

iPod is just for playing music. Can also do Apps, but it has no phone built in.

iPhone is like an iPod but it has a phone also built in. You can get a voice a data plan with a carrier (verizon/AT&T)

I think " i " stands for internet. Not sure but I've read on some book a long time ago that " iMac" was internet Mac: P
I dunno… I think they just use it as "me" now, it's not like the old ipods had internet, they are just "my pod".
"i" is just a tradition in Apple… And it's not like they can ask Hipster Zombie Turtleneck Jobs for permission to change it.

They are both 2 different products created by apple

the iPhone is a different product created by apple that plays music and movies and also can play and use applications/games but it also works as a cell phone for mobile use

An iPod's a music player that can also play games, store a calendar, and depending on the model, some have a touch screen and can play games and can communicate via Wi-Fi so it is possible to browse the Internet, send messages to other iPod users with a touch screen iPod.

An iPhone does all that and you can make cell phone calls and use navigation services.
