What is the best portable ipod/iPhone boombox?
Money no object. Preferably AM/FM Radio. Good battery life. Recharges ipod. Plug in mains power. Rugged good build quality. Not to heavy. Very loud!
Looked at TDK 3 speaker system, JVC Kaboom, Pioneer Steez, Lansonic, Altec Lansing, Bose, Sony, Marley bag of rhythm, Sharp.
What's the best? So much choice it's hard to compare them all.
Comparing is difficult. I was thinking of getting a Bose dock, and couldn't decide if the battery one was worth the extra $150. They had ipods hardwired into them. One hd country music, the other soul. One would think that they would have the same song on both. I walked out with neither.
I assume you want one that takes batteries. The Bose is nice because you can pack it easily in a suitcase. But a tad pricey at $400. I have a little JBL, very compact, no moving parts, and easily packed. IT won't rock the house, but it has nice sound for a small unit. I also have an iHome, the one with the plexiglass backing and the deep speakers. It doesn't take batteries, but fill the room well. I've also got an Altec, which has internal rechargeable batteries. It has ok sound, but it isn't the most durable. But cheap at $50.
IF money is no object, I'd go Bose. And heck out cnet.com reviews. They are pretty good.
Sweetwater's Kicker Amphitheater is among the best. Bose Sounddock 10 and B&W Zeppplin are two good units to audition. What might surprise you most is the Kicker ik501. Read the specs and compare for the value, the sound quality and the money the ik501 makes a strong argument to be in this company.
- Where can I buy a boombox for the Iphone 5? I want a boombox for my iphone 5 like the ihome boombox but thats only for 4S. What can i use for an iphone 5 that is a boombox (Keep in mind I don't want anything that does not look like a real boombox/ghetto blaster) Thanks in advance! To the first question I need a boombox that looks like a real one for the iphone 5 with a dock or something like that. At least a brand would be helpful just app store does not help me at all.

- My 'Touch Speaker Boombox' is making weird clicking sounds So today I just bought my Touch Speaker Boombox, and when I place my iPhone 4 on, the music quality is fine but a clicking sound can be heard. It's also like the clicking sound is part of the music, as when the volume is turned up the clicking gets louder, but it isn't. Any other phone/tablet is ok, it's just my iPhone 4. Anyone else have this problem or can help?
