What is the best virtual machine software for Linux?
I use Linux Kubuntu and I hated virtual box it didn't work hardly at all I tried to run iTunes in it and connect my iPhone and it wouldnt recognize it or anything. I would like to use XP as the virtual machine OS.
You will probably have the same problem whatever you use. ANY Windows system needs to access hardware through the hardware abstraction layer and this becomes a problem as the Linux system will already have control on the hardware. Even things like network cards often do not work in a VM.
That's a common problem with virtual machines. You can't access all of the Host's hardware from the Guest machine. What I would suggest is that you create a separate partition for Windows and install it there so when you need to use Windows, just select it from the dual-boot menu. It will work entirely on its own without Linux interfering.
Probably KVM http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Main_Page http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-linux-kvm/
VMware does what you want very well. You can assign usb ports and connect a printer, scanner, phone, etc to the windows guest with ease. VMware Player (free) is all you need. You can make an image of your windows system and convert it to a virtual machine with the VMware converter, then run it on VMware Player. Brilliant.
Which version of virtualbox were you using,
the closed source version is better than the ose (open source edition)
closed source is free from oracle, ose is the version in your software manager,
you also need to add the guest additions and enable usb
works for me running xp in a vm and mandriva linux as host
When you connect your iphone, you have to go to the options for the virtual machine and enable USB pass-through for that device. VirtualBox still probably the easiest to use for a non-linux guest.

- What's the best Virtual Reality Headset for an iPhone 5? So I recently bought the Free Fly VR Headset. It was very comfortable, but my iPhone 5 would be very pixelated inside the headset. I was wondering if anyone knew of a headset around $100 (or less) that could fit my iPhone 5 great.
- What is the xxd package in Linux? Also, how do I obtain it using apt-get? I'm trying to ssh into my iPhone to modify a specific hex portion of that game. Basically, make "money" cost nearly nothing. What's the package?
- Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
- I bought a Mac, how do I get rid of linux and install Mac OS again? I bought this mac second hand. It is an iBook G4, but the people installed linux on it and I would like the OS software on it instead as I have an iPhone and an iPod and iCloud and I would just rather deal with something that I'm familiar with, but I have been looking and I have no idea how to delete it and put what I want on it.
