What is the difference between an Android and an IPhone 5S?

My IPhone 3GS is dead totally broken, no longer able to use it. So my family and I are considering changing phone plans with I the only one getting a new phone. Thinking Android (more info is needed) and an IPhone 5S. Went to the local apple store today, and loved the technology on the IPhone 5S. However, didn't check out the Android. What is your preference and why did you choose it? What is your reference on these phones?

Get the galaxy s4 or galaxy s5 they are better then iphones and they have bigger and beautiful screens then the galaxy s4

CompNy

5S is the best hardware of any phone. You get the A7 chip, the dual core A7 outperforms any quad core phone out there, plus its the only 64bit phone. Sapphire lens over camera and fingerprint, and has aluminum casing, its just really good hardware all around. Plus its nice having actual Apple stores everywhere in case you have a problem of any type, you can always take it in there.

The androids and the apple phones share a lot in common. I think a lot of the Iphones appeal is to the younger generation where it has become a status symbol. Both are equally good I own a LG G2 which is an excellent phone. The Samsung Galaxy 4 has an excellent reputation also. Go online and search "comparing smart phones" and you will get a lot of information. Also look at the face of the phone. Apple has made its phone a little more compact and with a smaller display. If you want to play with several different phones go to one of your carriers stores and look at several different types. If money is an issue in your family look at a model that has been out for about six months or longer and you will find better deals. Also go to your carriers website or to Amazon for good deals. U tube has brief displays on a lot of phones. Hope this info will help you.

The difference is the operating system. The iPhone 5s will be similar to your 3GS but more features.

Android phones are a whole new OS, mostly for hacking and rooting.
