What is the difference between an iphone and a android?

I will be going into my first semester in college and me and my father are finally getting new phones. I have always wanted a iphone, but with our money situation i want to be sure before i shell out a lot of money. What is the difference between the two? Which is better?

The difference is who gets your money.

There similar in a lot of ways it all really boils down to personal style they both have app stores with many of the same apps

An Android is a cheap phone that has many quality problems, Iphone is made by Apple and they are the industry leader in teck items.

the person who said both have app stores is wrong, only apple has the app store as it is a registered trademark.everything android is just a copy of Iphone

They're very similar in terms of functionality. Certain apps are specific to each, but it all depends on what you want to use your phone for. I used to have an iPod, so I became pretty accustomed with iTunes, which made switching to an iPhone pretty convenient for me. Whatever phone you go with, I always recommend getting the lattest version. I'm probably going to get the new iPhone that comes out in September, but I might also check out the Samsung Galaxy S III.
