What is the lock symbol on every website on my safari?
On my iPhone like even google or yahoo it has a little lock symbol and the screen can rotate so it has nothing to do with that
It means the page is secure
To elaborate a bit, it means that the information that safari exchanges with the web site (for instance your username and password when you log in somewhere) is encrypted, so hypothetical eavesdroppers can't intercept/read the data.
It's a good thing, and perfectly normal.
And whenever you're ordering stuff or doing online banking and there isn't a little lock, that's when you should double check that you are on the correct site and not about to fall victim to a phishing attempt.
- Why doesn't my iPhone show the 4G symbol but it shows the LTE symbol? I have Verizon as a carrier, and I just aksed this question but didn't ask it right. YES I HAVE 4G LTE. I've had the phone for 2 months and have been many places with it. It only shows the circle, 3G, and the LTE symbol, but not 4G or the Edge symbol. If anyone knows why, please let me know.
- Why does gmail sign me out of my account every time I close my safari app on my iphone? This is a recent development and I'm starting to get really irritated. It started happening today after I cleared my history. Before today, I could close all my apps and when I opened them I would still be logged into my gmail account. This is no longer the case, and I'm not sure why. I cleared my cache and enabled cookies, so I don't understand why gmail is doing this. I've probably tried logging into my gmail account 10 times trying to fix this.

- If I bring my own phone that is unlocked to a carrier, will they lock it with them and do they have every right to do that? I have an iPhone that I just had unlocked so I can go switch to another carrier, but I'm wondering what will happen when I take it to another carreir to put service on it. Will they lock it with them?
