What is the other space on my iPhone, and how do I clean it up? - 1

I just bought a new iPhone 4.It has only 8GB of memory. The software takes up almost 2GB of that, leaving only 6.2GB for me to use. I notice that a whole 2.4GB of that is taken up by mysterious "other" information (that's what it's called). I can't figure out what this stuff actually is or how to get rid of it. I've thought about it being contacts, text messages, etc… But I just barely got the phone. Clearing out the few messages I had didn't make any difference anyway. What can I do to get rid of that?

Sadly you can't.other is what is already stored on the phone such as the apps for maps, youtube, calculator, clock ect. All the things that were on your phone when you bought it were in the other category.unfortunately you can't clean this up and delete certain things which is feustrating because it takes up space and i could care less about stocks but sadly thats just the way it is built. Sorry! You can try putting all the apps on your phone in folders.including the ones that were already on there to save some space but thats about all i know.
