What is this large planet above the moon?
Jupiter is tiny looking star to the left of the moon (from what the website says about tonight s viewing)
What caught my eye was the large object above the moon. I wasn't able to actually see it with my eyes and only could view it through my IPhone. I captured a few photos just to be sure it wasn't something else… What planet is that?
Jupiter. Tonight only because by tomorrow the Moon will have moved quite a bit.

That is either an internal reflection in your camera's lens, or a reflection in a window if you shot through a window. We get reports like this several times a week from people who don't understand what happens when you point a camera at a bright object like the Moon.
