What is up with Amazon and why are orders taking so long?

Today November 10th, I placed an order for an Aaliyah iPhone 5 case. In the "description" for the order it said "Ships in 3-4 days" but when I ordered it, it said "Delivery date: December 10th" I contacted the seller and everything but the dates not changing, I need it before then. When I used to order cases I would get them like a week after I ordered them. For the past two orders it's been a month for me to get my orders. What's up with that?

Are you buying directly from Amazon or a 3rd party? Maybe the item isn't available for another 3-4 days. It's not an Amazon issue since that is not the case with every item they directly sell.

I probably wouldn't order an item whose delivery date is the exact same day you placed the order. Fishy.

The estimated delivery date gives the seller a reasonable amount of time to ship the item. Once shipped, its at the hands of the delivery company. Sometimes they are slow due to inclement weather and/or ways shipped. If it is coming from somewhere thats pretty far away (say like from Cali to NY(, then its definitely going to take longer. You have to account for all variables. I've had to wait 3 weeks for packages coming from Thailand. It really depends on how far away and weather and what method of shipping.

It's obviously on a slow boat from China.
