What is your opinion on gun control?

Please, no semi-literate, iphone zombie, teenage kids.
This question is for the big boys only, OK?
Now, i believe in gun ownership of all forms but i would like to view your perspective on any gun peeve that you might have.
It can't be "Well, less guns, less crime!" cause that's not true, that theory has been proven wrong.

It can be however more guns is less crime that has been proven to be true. Gun control is using two hands that is all the gun control we need.

My opinion is what fact already shows. Gun Control ONLY makes life hard for LEGAL citizens trying to legally purchase, own and carry guns for self defense or other reasons. It has never has done anything to deter crime or make anybody safer. It's somehow always left out how many lives are SAVED every year do to gun ownership. Mind control at work.

Nobody would ever pass a law stating All people are loosing their drivers lic's because criminals use cars in crimes… Yet they think gun control makes sense!

Common sense really isn't that common.

Only reason criminals have such power is because the know they are a bit safer knowing that the person they are going to rob most likely is not armed. Now if we had constitutional carry the criminal would assume that the person is armed and maybe not attack. Now if the criminal did attack the victim would defend themselves. The way liberals see gun control is no guns equals no crime, criminals are already breaking the law so they don't care.

I'm against gun control of any kind, as all it does is make the lives of criminals easier, which leads to a rise in both the frequency and intensity of the crimes committed.

It comes down to basic psychology, if the rewards of an action (in this case crime) outweigh any risks and inconveniences incurred, and said action is percieved as more profitable than the alternative(s) (in this case honest work and education) then it becomes a "rational" way to fullfill the want or need (in the case of crime, mostly greed or lust) experienced by the perpetrator.
The only way to ensure that crime is not a "rational" action is to make the risks and inconveniences outweigh the rewards, and the most effective way of doing this is by arming every civillian and consistently applying the death penalty as the punishment for all violent crimes.

in a nutshell: if everyone owned a gun, only the most stupid and/or insane would, unsucessfully, try to commit acts of violence or larceny against others.

Do yourself a favor and read the works of John Lott and Gary Kleck. Lott is an economist and his research does indeed show that law abiding gun owners, especially those with concealed carry permits are a deterrent to crime.

Kleck, a professor of criminology intended to show that gun control equaled crime control. Instead his research convinced him that the more guns there are in the hands of the law abiding, the less crime there's. His research, at least certain parts has been accepted by congress. Specifically you can look at the "findings" section of the The Citizen's Self Defense Act of 2011" where congress finds that law abiding American citizens use a firearm to stop a crime 2.4 million times a year in the US. And that 192, 000 of those times it is a woman defending herself from sexual assault.
