What's a good video edit application?

I have an iPhone 5, and a Windows 7 computer. But I can use my sisters Mac if I absolutely need to use iMovie.

I want to be able to edit well for YouTube and have a successful account. Any suggestions?

Microsoft movie maker is awesome! Download it for free at the microsoft website!

IMovie is the best for MacOs. As for Windows, you could try Sony Vegas. That's what I'm using now. There are other options like Wondershare and many more. But i think Sony Vegas would be much more appropriate and is easier to edit video. Hope it helps!

FOR MAC IMOVIE is good, for windows my best option is MAGIX VIDEO PRO, its easy and has many features, second best option is sony vegas, third option is c5

Windows Movie maker available from here http://windows.microsoft.com/...ovie-maker is just a basic movie editor. You will be better off with Mac's iMovie software. You can do basic editing, add transitions between clips, cut parts of clips, and splice them together - all in these video editors. You can add text as titles on top of the clips too with them. You can shoot in iPhone and import the movie clip into your sister's Mac's iMovie and you could get the job easily done.

The learning curve with the above is not steep and you can be productive within a few hours of using them.

But if you need to add more special effects or modify the actual clips - in terms of contrast, color, super impose another image/clip, then you need to go for more advanced video editors. Sony Vegas is next in this line. Not too expensive, comes with enough features to make a slick movie. But if your aim is to make professionally creative movies - you need professional software like Adobe's Premier Pro (with Adobe After Effects) and Final Cut Pro. They cost quite a bit of money and have a steep learning curve.

May I suggest three very good free video editor programs, Freemake, FileLab, or VSDC? Each is safe, fully functioning, no watermarks, will not ask for money, and are recent releases that are HD capable. Take your pick:
