What's So Good About The New Lightning Connector? - 2
Apple recently upgraded the Pin Connector on the iPhone 5 and the iPad 4 to the new Lightning Connector rather then the old 30-Pin Connector. So, I was just wondering why did Apple take the time to change it? Like does the Lightning Connector make it charge faster, or what?
Well for me when I've smoked too much it's a lot easier to plug in now lol. Whereas previously I could waste a few minutes tryna plug my phone in and then find out I was holding the plug upside down the whole time lmao.
Besides that, I see no other benefit beside being able to plug it in right side up or up side down.
Apple claims that to keep the size of the phone to a minimum they needed to redesign the jack (don't know if it was entirely necessary but what do I know) also it doesn't help that they put the headset jack on the bottom creating even less room for a charging port, loudspeaker and microphone. I don't understand the design but whatever's.
And lastly I don't notice any difference in charging times. I see why you would think that considering they named it the "lightning" connector.
Some people will say they the true reason was so that we as customers would need to buy a new set of adapters and chargers and stuff bringing more money to apple. Some also say its they did it to make it harder for third party manufacturers to recreate it meaning we can only buy the apple branded lightning chargers. Of course apple won't admit it even if that was the reason, it's just something I've been hearing from other iPhone users.
- Would the printing machine work with my iPhone connector? If I took my I phone 4s into a store with printing machines could I connect it with my iPhone connector (the machines accept USB, is that classed as one?) would this work? Or should I just use a pen drive?
- Will the new iphone 5 have pure digital output via lighting connector? I'm an audiophile who wants to use external DAC for the upcoming iphone 5. Will the iphone 5 have the compatibility to do so?
- Why doesn't my iPhone USB connector work in my laptop? It used to worked perfectly but for some reason my laptop won't recognise if I connect my phone. It's not the USB port because everything else I've connected works fine and it's not the charger it works fine when connected to the power adapter. How can they not work together anymore?
- Where can I find a 30 pin dock connector to micro USB? I got a speaker dock as a gift but its for an apple iphone 4s connector and I have an android with a micro USB charger. I've found a converter but it has a long wire so I was wondering is there any without the wire I can buy http://www.amazon.co.uk/...007O64C0C/ basically, that but the other way around
