What's the data limit for Straight Talk's Unlimited plan?
I'm probably going to buy the unlocked GSM iPhone 5 and then use it on Straight Talk.
However, has Straight Talk said how much data you can use before your data speeds start getting throttled? Also, will the data that I use while I'm on Wi-Fi count against that data limit?
I would hold off on doing that right now, as the Straight Talk BYOD SIM card program only has mini-SIM cards and micro-SIM cards, not the nano-SIM cards that the iPhone 5 requires for use. Current estimates of how long it will take America Movil, the company that owns Straight Talk to support the nano-SIM cards is about a year.
Straight Talk has been intentionally vague as to how much data usage will get you throttled or disconnected. I have heard of people that have been capped at 2GB, and I have a cousin who was disconnected after 300 MB (in a day).It seems that the data cap is floating, based on the host carrier's network load for the area and time.
Data use while on Wi-Fi does not count against your data limit with Straight Talk or any other carrier.
- Over using data on unlimited straight talk plan? I have a straight talk iphone and they turned off all my data completely saying i "overused" my unlimited data plan. So i have to wait until my original service runs out which was just three days thank god, to add another 30 day unlimited plan. My only question is. Will my phone still work just fine like it did before this mishap. Can anyone tell me if this happened to them as well? And did your phone work with a new minute card? Or did you have to bjuy a whole new phone also?

She wants to keep her old straight talk number. How do I switch everything over so data, mms, etc works and she keeps her number? There's lots of different info out there right now, I just want some definitive instructions on how to make the switch properly.
