What's the difference between an iphone vs ipod?

Yes, I'm that old! Lol…

Iphone can call. It has a network chip in it that connects to cell phone towers, whereas an ipod does not.

An iPhone allows you to have music, apps, text messaging, and phone calls while an iPod only allows music and apps

An iPhone is a cellphone. An iPod is not.

An iPod is just for music, apps, taking pictures, and surfing the web.
An iPhone is for all of what I said about the iPod and you can text and make phone calls.

An ipod doesn't have a cellular voice and data connection. But you can make and receive calls and receive text message in an ipod if you install the appropriate apps, like whatsapp for text messaging and Viber, Skype or google voice for VoiceIP call. You will need a Wi-Fi connection though but you don't have to pay for a cellular or data plan. Cheers.
