What's the fastest way to earn money as a teenager?

I really want to buy myself a new camera but don't currently have the money to do so. I aspire to one day become a photographer or videographer and would love nothing more than to start my journey now! Small problem though… All I have is a broken camera and an old iPhone.

Added (1). Just for more info… I'm 17 and just started a job at a salon. I make close to $8/hr but I don't work a lot because they have 2 other receptionists, are open only 5 days a week, and close at 7:00 pm so I can only get a few hours in on school days.

Depending what you are willing to do, you should be able to raise the money pretty quick through Tinder or another app.

A lot depends on how old you are - bit difference between 13 and 19. Sixteen and up, get a job.

You don't state your age, which as has been stated already, is a major factor in terms of what you can or should be doing. Have you talked with your parents about this? When I was a pre-teen kid, I just grabbed my dad's rake and push mower and went door to door. What about washing cars in your neighborhood? What about washing people's windows or their dogs or taking the dogs for walks?

I would say that while you're looking for some income, use your phone. 80% of what makes a great photo great happens outside of the camera. Unless you're trying to do something that is beyond the capabilities of your smart phone, you should be okay. But your choices in terms of subject matter, lighting and composition all have nothing to do with the camera. You could be using a Nikon D5 with a three-thousand dollar lens, and you won't be taking any better photos than had you used your old smart phone. Yes, there are some types of photos that do require a different lens or the ability to control the aperture and/or shutter speed. But for the most part, you can learn the most important aspects of photography such as composition and lighting even with a phone.

Think about this: Your phone, as simple as it is by today's standards relative to a DSLR, is more advanced than the cameras used to make the iconic images 100 years ago. Now if someone with a wooden box in the 19th century was able to make great images, why can't you with your 21st century phone?
