The price of the iPhone 5s in India is INR 47000. Is the phone cheaper at the duty free shops?
Pretty much Apple products are more expensive in India, so certainly you would get a deal at DDF.
Apparently Steve Jobs had it in for India since his trip there way back as a young hippie. God knows which Indian guy rubbed him the wrong way but he still holds a grudge and not only are iphones, Macs etc overpriced but also there are no development, research centres ala Microsoft, IBM who all have a presence in India
Outside india i believe it is like international price range and good quality. No fake copy.
Indians are buying iphones 5 in bangkok at much cheaper price but they are not working in india. Some technical issues.

iPhone 5S 2199~2499 AED
these change daily, I expect DDF will be near the top (more expensive) price given but advantage of DDF you do not pay import duty when you take it home if you buy it there, plus int'l warranty.
