What's wrong with the cassette player on my Camry?
I have an amazing 1994 Camry with only about 70, 000 miles on it. It's an amazing car, and I enjoy every minute I spend it. The only thing that could make my driving experience in it better, would be the ability to connect my iPhone to the stereo and play my music. So I bought a cassette adapter, and it plays my music, but with a horrible grinding sound coming from the tape deck. Any ideas to what it could be? I know it's not the adapter. Any possible suggestions or solutions?
TL;DR '94 Camry tape deck makes horrible noises with cassette adapter, (or any tape) inserted. Suggestions as to what could be wrong? Similar experiences?
Get an fm radio adapter
Without a doubt, it's the cassette deck. My only solution is to find to either:
A: Find a Camry stereo deck on eBay if you want to keep that classic look.
or
B: Buy a new deck that will have an axillary input on it if you don't mind not having the classic look.
I do not recommend FM adapters. They're TERRIBLE if you live in the big city, or visit the big city frequently.
- Why is my cassette adapter playing on only the left side speakers of my car? I have an iPhone and I have been playing music through my adapter for a few months and a few weeks ago it just plays out of the left speakers and sometimes it flickers to the right, it worked fine before, but why is it doing this now?

- My car is making loud noises when I plug in IPhone to cassette adapter? So I have a cassette adapter and I used to play music on my iPad all the time, now I have an iPhone and I'm trying to play music with that but when I plug it in, my speakers start freaking out and sounds like I'm getting really bad static, is this cause of 4g or something? And is there a way to fix it?
