What should I do for Christmas?
For Christmas, I can either get a second hand iPhone 5 off of eBay and get a sim only contract. Or I can save up for the Xbox One and get it on my birthday in August (as I will have enough money).

Depends what you need more. Do you use your phone all the time? Are you out a lot? If yes, go for the iPhone. Do you stay at home a lot? Are a lot of your mates getting an Xbox? If yes go for the Xbox.
However, if money is a bit of an issue, may I recommend the PS4? You'll save £100 and have an experience just as good, if not better. Then you can put that remaining money into something like an iPhone 4S, or 5.
I would prefer getting an xbox one! You can save for it and get it for nw you can buy something else which is less expensive
