What software do i need to make an app on iphone?

- What software do i need to create a iPhone game? I've been wanting to build/design my own game for a while now though i've never known where to start or what software to use. Can anyone give me any ideas and thoughts on what to do or if there are any books out there that can help me out? I don't expect it to be easy and i don't mind if it's hard and time consuming. I always see it anounced in an absolutely black device, such as this one: http://pective.com/m/iphone-5 I wonder whether, when you're going to buy one, you go to the apple store and buy the whole thing, or look for a Nokia or Sony smartphone and then go to the Apple website and buy and download the software into your device.
