What the hell am I supposed to do?
I'm 14 and I have always been interested in computers. I know how to program mostly Objective-C. I don't have a formal education in computer-science or programming so I really don't get most things. Right now, the iPhone 5s is coming out and I have to wait a week or so to get it because my brothers wife can't be bothered to go to the store for two minutes. She is the account holder so she has to be there to sign the papers. I'm an apple person that gets intensely depressed when I don't get the iPhone on the first day. I have waited two years to upgrade my phone and yet nobody cares. My mom said that I should make something to pay for my own stuff but it's not that simple. I need a formal education and a team of people who also have a formal education to actually make anything. I'm no good at design or concept. I'm just a generic coder. I have tried learning c++ but it's no use Because I keep mixing it up with Objective-C. I don't have a mac with me so I can't even work with Objective-C. What am I supposed to do? Is there any way to get a formal education online or something like that?
Get high
There are two kinds of C-derived, object-oriented programming languages:
1. Objective-C
2. All other languages
What I mean is that the paradigms that apply in Objective-C won't apply in a similar way on other languages. Objective-C is not exactly a beginner's language, so it's a wonder that you have started learning it first.
I advise you against trying to learn C or another C-derived programming language, at least not for the moment. You're already mixing paradigms from C and Objective-C, and that can't be healthy. Don't do that.
Instead, focus on learning theoretical concepts such as algorithms, data structures, propositional logic and discrete Math, and stick to Objective-C until you have mastered these concepts.
For your next programming language, try something like Python. You'll be less likely to mix things up with Objective-C, and you'll start to grasp these concepts independently from the specific language.
Google "Udacity". Some of their free online courses are on programming, and may be of use to you.
- Why the hell is my NEW iPhone 4S running so SLOW? I got it a little before Christmas, it was brand new, AT&T 4G. It wasn't like this before! I barely have any apps, I have almost FULL bars and Wi-Fi connection, I don't know what's going on! When I'm on FB, it runs incredibly slow as well as on the internet. All I know is that it's p*ssing me off!
- Why the hell do I install ios7 on my iPhone 4S? And why the hell did Apple release it for 4/4s when it runs as bad as it does. You know what? Screw the first question, new question: How hard should I throw my phone at the wall?
- Where the hell can I watch Imagine Me And You online for free? They don't have the full movie on YouTube and I wanna watch it from my iPhone so I don't want to download some weird links or something.
- What the hell is wrong with iTunes? - 1 First off it deleted all my music off my iPhone. Now whenever I try adding music, the song just comes over grayed out and it says "Preparing to Update" and it won't put any of the music on the phone. What the hell?
