What to do, if I want to get the iPhone 6 in this scenario?

My phone died. But I qualify for an upgrade at Verizon. Yet I don't want to sign a contract with Verizon because I want to wait for the iPhone 6.

I've heard of straight talk, but have read terrible reviews about their costumer service.

Any ideas as to what I should do in the meantime? I need a smart phone with a GPS that's for sure.

You need a phone just to last you 'til August/October (whenever the iPhone 6 comes out). Go with the cheapest plan you can find available, usually it's Straight Talk from Walmart or whatever. They also have some different options at Radio Shack if you live near one. But basically, just pay a flat fee for a data cap every month with whatever phone you get (guaranteed it will be Android or Windows Phone) and just hold out. It's not going to be much longer 'til we start seeing Christmas time flagships.

I pay 50 dollars a month for unlimited text/call/internet can I still keep paying 50 a month or will Verizon make me change my plan?
