What to take on a long journey?

I'm going on a 9 hour bus journey with the youth. I'm doing a 9 hour bus journey, fery for 1-2 hours then back ona a bus till i reach the hotel. I need idea's on how to keep occupied. On the way there it will be through the day leaving at 7-arriving at the hotel at 9pm. But on the way back we travel all through the night.

i'm taking my iphone with music/games, magazines. What else? Can't take much though and not dvd player! Also what refreshments can i take? Btw i'm only taking a small bag! P. S I HAVE BRACES, SOME FOODS/DRINKS I CAN't HAVE.

It sounds like you have everything covered. Puzzle books, I would also take a very good book to read to hold my interest so that I'm not watching the clock. Take bottled water, granola bars(they do not take much room) and any other little snack bars that you would enjoy.

Load up a few movies on your iphone, or if you have an ipad, even better! Other than that, I think your covered! In the way of food, before you go on the journey, have a really big meal, so you are really full, but not so full that you feel sick haha.take some snacky things that don't have a lot of rubbish; things like potato chips, granola bars, maybe some fruit? A sandwich or two, some drink, water or soda. I think that is all i can think of…
