What will happen if I restore my iPhone as new?

I have an issue (like so many other people) where my deleted shortcuts in Safari keep reappearing/synching. I've tried EVERYTHING but they always come back. The last resort is to restore my phone as new. What exactly will I have to do manually to get my phone back to where it is now? Will I lose all my saved texts? That's really all I care about. I can get back my music and apps but I want to keep my texts. I'm on the 6 Plus running iOS 8.4 and this shortcut issue started after I downloaded iOS 8.

Just back it up first in itunes, restore it then copy from backup and you have everything back.

If you restore it as new thats exactly what would happen. No content would be on it. You would have to restore from a backup to keep your content.
