What wireless provider should I use?

I have a simple phone and am currently using Verizon on a family plan with 3 other people. I have an IPhone 4 which isn't activated. I would like a plan which is max about 25-30 dollars a month. It would be great if I could keep my phone number and use my iphone. If it was only a data plan then that would be fine because I could use free apps for texting and calling. Does anyone know how much it is to have just data from Verizon? What other company's are really cheap? Any feedback would be helpful, thank you in advance.

I have t-mobile and even though they are cheap and i have a very good plan (3 cell phone lines + home phone, 4 lines in all) unlimited texting and web, BUT 1000 limited calling minutes EACH month is about ~$120. Which i find pretty dang good. However… The service sucks. My signals are horrible and you get waht you pay for. Anyways, I would like to try verizon but its very costly… That is just my imput with my experience.

We have a home router (CD-R King brand), everything runs smoothly until someone with an apple device connects to the network. I tried pinging google continuously, but when an ipad or iphone connects. The network goes down. i've heard this problem from a friend.what's causing this problem?
