What works or doesn't work in terms of Social Media Marketing?
Facebook, Twitter, Yelp… There are so many options! What are some of things got you (as a customer) hooked and helped you discover new things? What are things that helped helped you (as a business) grow and expand?
Engagement, engagement, engagement.
Social media isn't just about promoting. It's about, of course, providing value for your followers. You have to engage to provide value, and you have to be "personal" to gain a following.
As a social media manager for my company, I utilize our Twitter and Facebook accounts to create a resource for those involved in the web and Internet Marketing industry. I also ask relevant questions about what our followers think of current events. For example, yesterday, I asked "What do you think will happen to the current cell phone market once VZW has the iPhone?" Questions have always produced more mentions and answers as opposed to just promoting our service.
I rarely promote our services blatantly, unless it ties into the post or tweet in question. Representing a resource resonates more with followers, and as a result, they will come to us to find out more about our services.
Furthermore, I treat these accounts as if the company is a "person" as opposed to a business. After all, people do business with people, not with businesses. So, if it snowed that day, I ask if everyone got to work safely, or I send our birthday tweets, if appropriate.
Engage, be personal, and become a resource. People will follow. There are so many options today for social media marketing.
I prefer using all social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, etc.
It is the best way to get increased engagement and targeted followers quickly to promote your business.

- Why isn't my Wi-Fi working on my social media apps? For some reason, my home Wi-Fi isn't connecting to my social media apps on my iPhone. I know the Wi-Fi is working because safari and mail working, just not on apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr or Pinterest?
- Why do 20th century born people hate the 21st century due to 'social media' when they're the idiots who created it in the first place? As a 2000 Born, I just learned that people born before (20th century borns) are very critically and mentally-impaired when it comes to nostalgia. These dummies now say that my birth century sucks because of social media and the iPhone invention. Will guess what? These were invented by 20th century borns and they're the reason why my birth century is hated.
- What features would people want in a social media application? I'm developing an android and Iphone app which is like Snap Chat.
