What would you bring with you to an exoplanet to discover life?

You are stranded on an exoplanet and are on a mission to discover life. Out of all these 10 equipments: mirror, flashlight, iphone x, compass, notebook, rope, sandals, camera, watch, magnifying glass; you can only bring 3. What would be the 3 that you take with you to explore?

My guess at this silly question:
flashlight (for light)
magnifying glass (to see small things better)
camera (to record life if you found it)

NOthing as Aplanet IS just Awandering STAR withIN THE "firmAment.

This is kinda like the 10 Essential Camping Items that's taught in Scouts… I'd say a flashlight, rope, and magnifying glass… A compass may be useless if the planet doesn't have a magnetic field, an Iphone needs a network, and a watch may not conform to the planet's "day" cycle. The mirror and notebook would be good too, but… I picked my 3…

Guess you're assuming that the planet already has a breathable atmosphere, and other conditions that make it suitable for you to move around without an environmental suit on.

I'd first get an education is biology, and chemistry, and geology (or at least have the resources that you could learn, and reference). That way, you would have some sort of idea what to look for.

Then on planet, work on making the basics for survival - shelter, water, and food. If the planet is devoid of any plant, or animal life, that will be problematic for you in really sort order.

If the food, and water situation is handled, then start making a map of your surroundings, and begin to explore. You might even set up way stop shelters so that you can explore further without having to return to base camp for a few days.

Past that - you'll need seasonal clothing, medical supplies, microscope, and related equipment, water testing kits, writing equipment, food, and water containers, basic household stuff. Having a power source for heat, and light would be really nice. As would books on a wide variety of subjects, same for entertainment (actual books, not electronic - if there's no power).
One of the first things I'd attempt, is try to figure why the planet has a breathable atmosphere, and how does it get replenished. Then look at the water (if there's water) for microscopic life

The iphone is useless off Earth.
The compass would be useless since I wouldn't know directions and "north" wouldn't help much.
A flashlight needs batteries.
The time according to an Earth watch is irrelevant.
Sandals are not efficient footwear.
A camera would be nice, but not essential to survival.

The rope, notebook (for paper to start a fire) and the mirror (to start a fire or see around corners or in crevasses) would be my choices.
