What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it?

I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?

She's 20. Pack her sh! T. Let her rent her own apt and buy her own TV.
Betcha wish you were a bit more strict now.

Disconnect her TV and iPhone. Let her sign up for the service under her name. No, I'm not kidding!

I won't say what I would have done. Kick her @$$ out of there today. She's walking all over you and you are letting her.

I would sit her down tell her very plainly that I pay the bills and this this is my house and home. Tell her if she isn't happy living under my roof she knows where the door is and if she ever pulls a stunt like that again in my home she can find her own house to watch and charge her Iphone.

Time for her to get her own place.Don't tolerate rudeness.Except allowing your child to act rude only enables her to continue to do so.Set high standards of how you want your child to behave-she'll meet your expectations, both high and low. Setting low expectations or assuming this is how she behaves will lead to misbehavior. But setting high expectations encourages her to meet them, no matter how far-fetched they may seem to you.

This means not tolerating rudeness and disagreeing with respect. At 20 cutting my anything off, she would be out the door

This can't be a real question. Why would you let a grown woman talk to you like this in your own home?

I would have gone outside, called my phone provider, and dropped her number from the family plan. And that's just for starters.

We teach others how to treat us. Apparently, you've taught her she can walk all over you. This isn't optimal parenting.

EDIT: Wait, she's out of your house? That's good news. However, I strongly suggest you get the locks changed. It's not that expensive and obviously you'd never give her a key. She's got some growing up to do, but that's a good start.

I wouldve told her she needed to find her own place if she's going to act like that

Should have taken her over your knee, removed her drawers, and spanked her heiny til it's pink

Cut off her services.
