When Apple replaces your iphone, is the new one really a used one?
I recently got my iphone 5 replaced, and when the guy was getting the new one he just took one out of a plain white box. I'm just wonderingly if that iphone was used before and went through a whole process to be fixed and restored to looking brand new.
I asked the guy who replaced my iPhone 5 that question and he said it could be new or refurbished, but if it's refurbished it has a brand new screen, battery, back plate, everything. The only thing that might be reused is the processor or other "nonconsumable" parts.
- Would you get a notification on your iPhone if your Apple ID was used to log into another device? I'm unsure if I have unknowingly given my Apple ID to a scammer in the past, but I curious would I have received a notifcation on my iPhone, in a form of a text or pop up? I've heard that before and I wanted to make sure. Even if you didn't have two-factor authentication on.
- When apple replaces a broken iphone, do you get to keep the old broken one? The back camera on my iPhone 4s broke (just stopped working), so I called Apple and I have an appointment set up to replace the old phone with a brand new one. But, I want to know if when they give me the new phone, will they let me keep the old one? The phone still works fine except for the camera. In fact, it's almost perfect. And obviously I want to sell the old one on ebay to make a boat load.
