When do people, jailbreak their iPhones?
This actually makes me really angry because one of the most common things I hear about jail breaking, is that you can get all the apps for free. Don't people know that this is stealing, if I came round your house and stole your TV or computer, what would you think, you would be outraged because I had burgled your home and stole your belongings - the things that you had worked so hard to earn the money to buy.
Likewise jailbreaking your iPhone just so you can download the apps for free the same sort of thing. People have spent a lot of time and money creating these apps and if they are then stolen that company loses out on its income, which means they can't afford to do updates or fix any bugs with their software or create any new apps.
Now if you are jailbreaking simply to get access to the hidden settings, then that I can tolerate but even this does not make sense. There's phones out there that come per-jailbroken and provide the end user with a nightly customisable set of settings and features… The operating system is called Android and the most well know manufacturer is reshape Samsung but there are many many more.
So jailbreaking an iPhone makes no sense to me - either financially or technically.
Therefore why do people do it
It's so pointless and people do it to change the operating system to because apple disallow curtain things. Like downloading music.
People in foreign countries can't get the many apps that us peoples in the US can. Many other countries are permitted from buying apps. With your apple product jailbroke, you can, under cydia, get these apps.
People jailbreak their iPhones because apps are incredibly overpriced. Labor on an app might cost x dollars, but that's all you need. It's different from any other good because you require next to none extra work to duplicate the app for sale. For example…
You buy a hardcover book. The cost of the book is labor needed to write it + labor needed to duplicate it. Thus, the price is fairly high.
You buy an app. The cost is the labor to write it. Because thousands of people will buy it, you can sell it for a couple cents and make a nice profit.
It's more about customisation… Not about " stealing " apps.
- Why people like iPhones? I can't never get people who like iphones to give a good reason, why? Some say it easy, but a lot have no clue on how to use their own phones. Can someone explain something useful that great about iphone? Everything they think is special other phones have been doing for years.
- Why do poor people care more about their image and buying nice clothes than feeding their family or paying bills? I see tons of poor people who make less than 20k a year spending their entire income on nice clothes and shoes and purses and makeup. Their children are starving they can't even afford to use the air conditioner or pay for electricity but they absolutely need to buy a new iPhone or a new pair of high heels
- Why do people put passcodes on their iPods or iPhones? My girlfriend has an iPod touch and my friends daughter has an iPhone and they put passcodes on them. I have an iPhone and I don't need one on mine. My friends daughter has a little brother and I understand that's why she has it on hers but my girlfriend doesn't have any brothers or sisters so there's so reason for her to have it on her iPod. I don't get why they put them on there. Why do they have passcodes on their iPods and iPhone?
- Why do people jail break their iPods/iphones? So I hear all this stuff about jail breaking iPods and iPhones and stuff. How do you do it? And what is the point… I'm confused.
